Compassionate Inquiry
Developed by Dr. Gabor Maté, Compassionate Inquiry is a gentle therapeutic approach that helps uncover the unconscious beliefs, emotional wounds, and protective patterns that shape our lives.
What is Compassionate Inquiry?
Rather than asking "What's wrong with you?", Compassionate Inquiry asks, "What happened to you?" Through curiosity and compassion, we begin to understand the origins of our struggles and create space for healing and lasting change.

Dr. Gabor Maté
Why I Was Drawn to Compassionate Inquiry
For many years, Dr. Gabor Maté's work on trauma, addiction, and healing gave me hope and a deeper understanding of the human experience. His compassionate approach resonated deeply with me, both personally and professionally.
I was fortunate to be in the audience in November 2018 when Gabor announced that he was launching the Compassionate Inquiry training programme. Something about the approach felt profoundly aligned with how I understood healing, and I knew I wanted to be part of it.
When the training began in 2019, I joined and have never looked back. The journey has been transformative, not only in the way I work with clients but also in my own personal growth and understanding of myself.
What continues to inspire me about Compassionate Inquiry is its belief that our struggles are not signs of something being wrong with us. Rather, they often reflect intelligent adaptations developed in response to life's challenges. When we meet these parts of ourselves with curiosity and compassion instead of judgment, healing becomes possible.
Today, I feel privileged to bring this approach into my work, offering a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, deepen self-understanding, and move toward lasting change.
